BGTS-17 17-Inch Dual-Speed Floor Machine — Scrub and Buff in One Chassis
The Bissell Big Green Commercial BGTS-17 is a 17-inch floor machine that switches between 175 RPM for scrubbing and 300 RPM for buffing, replacing two separate machines with one. A 1.5 HP DC rectified motor and triple-planetary high-torque transmission drive the pad through spray buffing, bonnet cleaning, scrubbing, and shampooing. It is built for facilities that maintain a mix of floor types and want a single chassis to cover the full weekly routine. The all-metal polished aluminum chassis adds the operating weight that presses the pad into the floor, and the dual-speed switch sits at the motor mount so an operator can change from scrubbing to buffing without stopping to swap equipment.
BGTS-17 Speed, Drive, and Build
- Dual-speed 175 / 300 RPM — switch at the motor mount between scrubbing speed and buffing speed without changing machines
- 1.5 HP DC rectified motor — draws 13 to 15 amps for sustained commercial floor work
- Triple-planetary transmission — high-torque gearbox holds speed under aggressive scrubbing and polishing loads
- Polished aluminum chassis — all-metal weight presses the pad into the floor for more effective contact
- 50-foot 14/3 safety cord — covers a full corridor or classroom from a single outlet
- Non-conductive dual triggers with interlock — two-handed operation keeps the operator engaged and meets commercial safety standards
BGTS-17 Applications and Environments
Schools and educational facilities use the BGTS-17 for weekly spray buffing of corridor and gymnasium VCT and for periodic scrubbing cycles. Hospitals and healthcare environments run it on resilient tile in lobbies and common areas where one machine has to scrub and buff. Retail stores, shopping centers, office lobbies, and service contractors deploy it across mixed floor types where carrying two machines is impractical. Warehouse offices and break rooms with sealed concrete or VCT round out the typical deployment. The 6-inch non-marking wheels protect finished floors during repositioning between zones, and the adjustable handle reduces operator strain over a full shift.
